Kazuchika Okada wins AEW Continental Classic; Kenny Omega makes his return

Kazuchika Okada retained the AEW Continental Championship by winning the AEW Continental Classic at AEW World’s End on Saturday night.

Okada won his semifinal match against Ricochet and later faced Will Ospreay in the final. Ospreay had eliminated Kyle Fletcher in the other semifinal. Okada emerged victorious in both matches after delivering his signature “Rainmaker” followed by a pinfall.

However, confirming earlier rumors, Kenny Omega made his immediate return, confronting Okada during his celebration, making clear his intention to challenge for the title and begin his revenge against The Elite.

Omega stepped away from AEW in late 2023 after developing an acute case of diverticulitis. AEW wrote him off TV through a brutal attack by Okada, Young Bucks, and Jack Perry, forcing him to leave the arena on a stretcher.

Omega will make his in-ring return in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he will face young talent Gabe Kidd.
