LA Knight recaptured the United States Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura during the March 7 edition of WWE SmackDown.
The two competitors faced off in a championship rematch following Nakamura’s previous victory over Knight for the title.
During the back and forth contest, Nakamura attempted to gain an advantage by introducing a steel chair into the match. When the referee took the chair away, Nakamura tried to use his trademark mist attack but Knight ducked, causing the referee to be blinded instead.
With the referee temporarily incapacitated, Knight seized the opportunity to deliver a BFT onto the steel chair. A second referee ran to the ring to make the three count, officially declaring Knight the new United States Champion.
Knight celebrated his championship victory with pyro effects as the show concluded.
