WWE Adds Last-Minute Stipulation to Worlds Collide Match

It’s often said that the greatest rivalries are the most personal, and the animosity between Dominik Mysterio and his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, continues to find new and compelling ways to escalate. “Dirty Dom” has arguably become one of the best heels in the business, and his desire to step out of his father’s shadow is fueling what could be the biggest moment of his career.

During a backstage interview on tonight’s SmackDown, Dominik Mysterio interrupted his father to raise the stakes for his upcoming AAA Mega Championship match against El Hijo del Vikingo at the Worlds Collide event. Confident in his ability to become a double champion, Dominik proposed a very specific post-match stipulation.

Should he defeat Vikingo, Rey Mysterio must enter the ring, raise his son’s hand in victory, and put the AAA Mega Championship around his waist. After a tense moment, Rey agreed to the terms. This would be a significant moment, as Dominik aims to be the first in the Mysterio family to hold that specific title.

The confrontation adds another layer of drama to the already stacked Worlds Collide card. The special event, co-promoted by WWE and Lucha Libre AAA, is set to feature talent from both organizations in a series of high-stakes matchups.

The show will also see The New Day challenge for the AAA World Tag Team Championship, and a Fatal 4-Way for the AAA Latin American Championship.
