Logan Paul expressed frustration with a key creative decision made by Triple H for WWE’s Clash In Paris, publicly questioning why his match against John Cena was not the main event. In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Paul reacted to learning his match was second to last on the card by calling the choice “insane.” The bout was a significant stop on Cena’s farewell tour, as he is expected to retire in December with only a handful of appearances remaining.
The main event spot that Paul coveted was instead reserved for the World Heavyweight Championship match. The contest saw Seth Rollins defend his title against Jey Uso, LA Knight, and CM Punk. The match concluded after Becky Lynch delivered a low blow to Punk, which allowed Rollins to secure the victory with a Stomp. It is now widely believed this finish will lead to a mixed tag team match at Wrestlepalooza, pitting Punk and a returning AJ Lee against Rollins and Lynch.
In his vlog, Paul provided the direct commentary on his placement.
“Am I headlining Clash in Paris? [Gets told he is second to last.] What I’m the second match? Second to last? Bro. This is almost worse than not being on the red jet. Me and John Cena are second last? [Bruce Prichard – Yeah!] This guy is insane.”
Despite his pointed criticism of the booking, Paul used the same vlog to offer significant praise for his opponent. Even in defeat—Cena secured his 99th premium live event win with two consecutive Attitude Adjustments—Paul referred to the veteran as a “mastermind of the craft.” The competitive match saw Cena utilize a Tornado DDT and a Styles Clash, moves not commonly in his arsenal.
“Working with John…he’s such a f—king mastermind of the craft and I learned so much,” Paul stated. He also acknowledged the positive fan reception, adding, “He’s very f—king good. I see why he’s the GOAT.”
Paul concluded the video with a direct message to WWE management and its audience, signaling his future ambitions despite the creative slight.
“I’m leaving Paris more motivated now than ever,” he declared. “I want to work… To the WWE audience, to Triple H, I’m ready to f—king work. I proved I have the capability. Put me in, coach.”
