Lola Vice is set to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at No Mercy, but she has nothing but respect for the current champion. Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Vice lauded Jayne’s work ethic and labeled her a key figure behind the scenes. “Jacy can be a bitch sometimes,” Vice admitted, “But I will say — she’s a locker room leader.”
The praise continued as Vice highlighted Jayne’s dedication. “She’s an extremely hardworking person. She never complains. She’s incredible at her job,” Vice stated. She also commended Jayne’s in-ring skills, calling her “one of the best women’s strikers that we have in wrestling that has never had a striking background before.”
Despite the clear admiration, Vice remains focused on her championship ambitions. “She inspires me, even though I want her title,” she explained. “I’ve learned so much from her and I’m very happy she’s in the position that she’s in.”
Vice secured her championship opportunity this past Sunday at Heatwave, winning a three-way match against Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan. The event marked a significant night for Jayne, who entered as a double champion but left with only one title after losing the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
In a Triple Threat Match that also involved Masha Slamovich, Jayne lost the TNA gold to Ash By Elegance. After Jayne’s Fatal Influence stablemates were ejected from ringside, interference from The Elegance Brand directly led to her defeat, ending a 36-day reign.
Despite the loss, Jayne’s 90+ day reign as NXT Women’s Champion continues. Her title defense against Lola Vice is officially set for No Mercy on September 27.
