Carmelo Hayes has made his return to NXT, but the reunion of the Trick Melo Gang is already built on a shaky foundation. Hayes appeared on the brand for the first time since being drafted to SmackDown in April 2024, emerging to back up Trick Williams during a heated confrontation with DIY.
The uneasy alliance formed after Williams found himself in a verbal sparring match with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa over their clash from the previous week.
Despite evening the odds, Hayes quickly made the tension between himself and Williams clear. He referenced their past issues and cut a sharp promo, claiming that while DIY built the house and he renovated it, Williams was just a “squatter.” Williams acknowledged talking trash but stood his ground, declaring NXT was still his house.
Seeing the friction, Gargano interjected and laid down a challenge for a tag team match. The newly reformed but clearly conflicted duo of Hayes and Williams will now face DIY at the NXT Homecoming special.
