WWE Superstars Dominik Mysterio, The Wyatt Sicks, and Natalya are confirmed for championship matches at AAA’s Héroes Inmortales on October 25. The event will feature defenses of the AAA Mega, World Tag Team, and Reina de Reinas titles, with the bouts set during AAA’s latest television taping in Mexico City.
The main event will see Dominik Mysterio defend his AAA Mega Championship against Dragon Lee. Mysterio, who also holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship, captured the AAA title at the Worlds Collide event in September after his father, Rey Mysterio, was forced to hand him the belt.
Dragon Lee secured the title shot by defeating El Grande Americano and El Hijo del Vikingo in a number one contender’s contest. After the match, Mysterio, who had been on guest commentary, stepped into the ring and confronted him, setting the stage for the clash.
Another crossover match will see The Wyatt Sicks challenge Pagano and Psycho Clown for the AAA World Tag Team Championship. This marks the group’s first title pursuit outside WWE. The injured champions issued the open challenge in a promo referencing the attack they suffered at Worlds Collide. The Wyatt Sicks later accepted in a video package.
The Reina de Reinas Championship will also be on the line as Natalya enters a triple threat against reigning champion Flammer and Faby Apache. Apache earned her spot by defeating Flammer in a recent non-title contest.
The booking of Dragon Lee opposite Dominik adds further intrigue. Lee had previously stepped in for an injured Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 41 against El Grande Americano. Rey, sidelined with a groin injury since before WrestleMania, is expected at the WWE Performance Center next week for the final phase of his recovery, according to PWInsider.
The family tension escalated on September 17, when Rey told the Shoboy Show that his relationship with his son is broken. Referring to Dominik as “the Scarface of wrestling,” he added, “I’ll eventually knock him back on his a–.”
Héroes Inmortales is AAA’s annual event honoring the promotion’s late founder, Antonio Peña.
