Major Celebrity Could Make WWE Ring Debut at SummerSlam

According to a new report from PWInsider, country music star Jelly Roll is actively training for an in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam. The event is scheduled for August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The path to his debut is expected to begin on this Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Jelly Roll is scheduled to appear on the broadcast from his home state of Nashville to kick off the storyline that will carry through to the summer event.

The plan reportedly involves Jelly Roll aligning with a top-tier babyface. The report from PWInsider specified that his partner will not be Cody Rhodes.

This development is not a sudden promotional stunt. Jelly Roll has a growing history with WWE, including a memorable appearance at SummerSlam in 2024. During that show, he performed and later became physically involved, smashing chairs over Grayson Waller and Austin Theory before joining The Awesome Truth in a celebratory spot. WWE officials were reportedly very happy with his performance and his genuine enthusiasm for the product.

The musician has also been vocal about his desire to step into the ring, previously mentioning that he was losing weight in preparation for a potential opportunity. His planned involvement at SummerSlam aligns with WWE’s successful strategy of featuring dedicated celebrity performers like Bad Bunny and Logan Paul in significant matches and storylines.
