Iyo Sky’s potential alliance with Rhea Ripley against The Kabuki Warriors imploded during the opening segment of the September 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, culminating in Sky being betrayed and misted by Asuka. The chaotic angle unfolded after Ripley challenged Asuka and Kairi Sane to a tag team match, only for Sky’s indecision to lead to a violent ambush.
The show began with Rhea Ripley addressing the recent actions of The Kabuki Warriors. Citing that their attack on Iyo Sky last week had crossed a line, Ripley issued a challenge for a tag team match, proposing that she and Sky join forces to face their common enemies. While not explicitly stated, the challenge appeared to be aimed at the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event.
In response, Iyo Sky came to the ring and conceded that Ripley had been right about Asuka and Kairi Sane’s intentions. However, Sky stated that she still considered them family and needed time to think about the offer before walking away from the ring.
Her exit triggered an immediate ambush, as The Kabuki Warriors blindsided Ripley. Sky rushed back to make the save and pulled Asuka off Ripley, but the rescue attempt was a trap. Asuka instantly incapacitated Sky, spraying her directly in the face with a turquoise-green mist that saturated her face and teeth.
The confrontation was preceded by a message from The Kabuki Warriors on the Titan Tron. Asuka claimed she had mentored Sky and made her a Women’s World Champion, demanding an apology for her perceived lack of gratitude. Kairi Sane added that the three of them could be a family again, an offer Asuka extended to Sky but not to Ripley.
Following the mist attack on Sky, the duo focused their assault on Ripley. After sending her shoulder-first into opposite corners, they delivered tandem spinning back fists. The beatdown concluded when Asuka locked Ripley in the Asuka Lock, allowing Sane to connect with an In-Sane Elbow from the top rope to a defenseless Ripley.
