Andrade El Idolo is back in All Elite Wrestling. He made a shocking return on the sixth-anniversary episode of AEW Dynamite, immediately targeting former world champion Kenny Omega and aligning with Don Callis.
The stunning turn of events took place after Omega had addressed the audience. As he was wrapping up his promo, the arena lights cut out. When they returned, a masked figure stood in the ring, who then revealed himself to be Andrade.
Without hesitation, Andrade launched an attack on an unsuspecting Omega, making his intentions clear from the moment he reappeared in an AEW ring. His first run with the company concluded at the end of 2023 when he left for a stint with WWE.
The bigger shock came when Don Callis entered the ring. Instead of a confrontation, Callis extended his hand, and Andrade shook it, cementing a new partnership between the two and signaling Andrade’s immediate entry into a main event-level angle.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Andrade has officially signed a full-time contract with All Elite Wrestling. The report also confirmed he did not have a non-compete clause following his WWE departure in September, which allowed for his immediate return to television. His brief run back in WWE, which began in January 2024, reportedly ended due to disciplinary reasons, according to Jon Alba.
Andrade’s return sets a new precedent, as he becomes the first wrestler in history to sign with AEW, depart for WWE, and then make a subsequent full-time return to All Elite Wrestling.
