Major Update On Britt Baker’s AEW Contract Status

A new report reveals Britt Baker’s AEW contract could extend into 2027 with injury time, despite her being healthy and ready to return to a company that has not booked her.

Major Update On Britt Baker’s AEW Contract Status

Dr. Britt Baker’s contract with All Elite Wrestling extends for at least another year and could potentially run into 2027 with added injury time, according to a new report. The clarification on her long-term status comes as the former AEW Women’s World Champion remains off television, despite reportedly being healthy and willing to return to the company.

The details emerged during a Fightful Select Q&A, where Sean Ross Sapp specified the potential length of her agreement. “Her contract goes at least a year. At least a year. And then they could add injury time to it, assuming it’s like every other deal. That would take her well into 2027,” Sapp stated.

This long-term contractual status contrasts with her prolonged on-screen absence, which has now stretched to nearly a year since her last televised match in November 2024. Sapp noted that Baker is not sitting out by choice, affirming she is healthy and has been available for a return. The situation was highlighted last week on September 24, when Baker was not present backstage for AEW Dynamite in her hometown of Pittsburgh, according to a PWInsider report.

Her absence from the Pittsburgh broadcast was particularly notable as it featured the unveiling of the new AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, a major development for the division she helped build.

AEW President Tony Khan has previously addressed the situation, dismissing speculation that Baker wanted to leave and attributing her time away to the company’s use of a rotating talent roster. He affirmed she would return “when the time is right.” Dave Meltzer had described the Pittsburgh event as a pivotal moment for her status with the promotion, further intensifying questions surrounding her ongoing absence.
