“Stone Cold” Steve Austin has addressed speculation about a potential WrestleMania 41 appearance. The WWE Hall of Famer responded to questions regarding his possible involvement in the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena.
The situation has intensified following Cena’s shocking heel turn at Elimination Chamber. The 16-time world champion formed an unexpected alliance with The Rock, creating a formidable challenge for Rhodes.
Last year, Cena played a crucial role in Rhodes’ WrestleMania XL victory against Roman Reigns. The Cenation Leader attacked Reigns and Solo Sikoa to create a more even playing field for Rhodes.
The landscape has dramatically shifted with Cena now aligned with The Rock. This development leaves Rhodes potentially outnumbered heading into WrestleMania 41.
During a recent interview with The Schmo, Austin was directly asked about potentially helping Rhodes in his upcoming championship defense against Cena.
This year, it’s going to be in Las Vegas, and it’s going to be pretty damn awesome. [Schmo: You’re going to be helping Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania?] Hey, I’ve not been in contact with anybody. So, I guess anything can happen.
Austin’s response neither confirmed nor denied his involvement. The Texas Rattlesnake’s carefully worded statement leaves the possibility open for a surprise appearance at the premium live event.
WWE holds WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas on April 19-20, 2025. The two-night event will feature Rhodes defending his championship against Cena, who now seeks his record-breaking 17th world title.
The Rock’s involvement as Cena’s ally creates a challenging scenario for Rhodes similar to his WrestleMania XL match against Roman Reigns, where outside interference was a significant factor.
Austin last appeared at WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Kevin Owens in an impromptu match. This marked his first official match since WrestleMania XIX in 2003.
