Major WWE Star Will Not Return in Time for WrestleMania 41

Asuka will not return to WWE in time for WrestleMania 41, according to a new report from Bodyslam. The Japanese star is expected to remain sidelined for “at least a couple more months,” placing her comeback sometime after WWE’s biggest annual show.

The former champion has been absent from WWE television since losing the Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Kairi Sane at Backlash France in May 2024. She underwent surgery for a knee injury that had been bothering her for some time.

Despite creative pitches being made for her return in January, Asuka missed the Royal Rumble and now appears set to miss WrestleMania as well. The report notes that while WWE had hoped to have her back sooner, they are taking a cautious approach with her recovery.

Sources indicate Asuka is making good progress in her rehabilitation despite the extended absence from WWE programming.

During her time away from the ring, Asuka faced some concerning personal situations. In January, she posted messages on social media asking fans to keep their distance, explaining she would not accept romantic approaches. She revealed she had already consulted police after feeling she was in danger.

Several weeks after these messages, Asuka’s social media account was hacked, though she has since regained control of it.
