Malakai Black may soon return to WWE following his recent departure from AEW. Creative plans for his comeback are reportedly being considered by WWE.
A potential storyline could connect Black with the current direction of Chad Gable, who has been targeting lucha stars and their “dark arts.” Gable might approach Zelina Vega, who owns The Dark Arts Gym with her husband Malakai Black.
This interaction could trigger Black’s return and lead to a confrontation with the American Made leader. The angle would provide Gable with a clear path to WrestleMania 41 while creating a natural transition for Black back to WWE programming.
Reports indicate Black will receive a push upon his return to the company. He last competed on WWE Raw in October 2020 before his release in June 2021.
Vega recently discussed training with Black during an appearance on Busted Open Radio, highlighting how his attention to detail has improved her in-ring work.
He’s really good at breaking down every single thing. I need somebody who’s going to be extremely raw with me and tell me, ‘This is what you’re doing right, this what you’re doing wrong.’ Having time with him has helped so so much.
While Creative currently has no clear WrestleMania 41 plans for Vega, she could potentially face Chelsea Green for a championship opportunity at the event.
