Masha Slamovich’s contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire soon, according to Fightful Select. This development comes as TNA has launched an internal investigation following serious allegations of domestic abuse made against the Knockouts competitor. As a result, Slamovich has been removed from her scheduled TNA Knockouts Championship match at Victory Road this Friday.
The allegations surfaced on Tuesday when a friend of her ex-partner, wrestler AKIRA, released dozens of screenshots and images of alleged conversations. In response, TNA issued a statement to Sports Illustrated: “We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation.”
TNA has since removed all promotional material for the planned title match between Slamovich and champion Ash By Elegance from its official website. The fallout has extended to the independent circuit, with West Coast Pro and other promotions pulling Slamovich from upcoming shows.
In a lengthy statement, AKIRA, whose real name is Alexander Atkisson, revealed he attempted s—cide multiple times during the relationship. One alleged text message attributed to Slamovich reportedly read: “You cursed at me — that’s why you got hit. Again, cool to see you claim intelligence and can’t see metaphor.”
Slamovich’s absence from the TNA invasion angle on the September 23 episode of NXT was unrelated. Reports noted she was not planned for the segment because she was out of the country at the time.
