Maxwell Jacob Friedman won the men’s Casino Gauntlet match on Saturday at AEW All In: Texas, securing a contract for a future shot at the AEW World Championship. The victory positions MJF as a primary contender for the title, looming over the eventual winner of the night’s main event between Jon Moxley and Hangman Adam Page.
The match kicked off the pay-per-view from Globe Life Field in Arlington, with Mark Briscoe entering at number one. MJF, accompanied by MVP, entered at the number two position and immediately went on the offensive against Briscoe, staying true to his aggressive pre-match predictions.
The bout featured a steady stream of entrants, including Ricochet, who briefly allied with MJF before being double-crossed. The flow of the match was punctuated by several key moments, including the arrival of the luchador Místico, who immediately confronted MJF, and the return of Juice Robinson. Robinson’s dominance was cut short by the interference of both the Gates of Agony and The Gunns, who brawled with each other after taking out Ricochet.
In the final moments of the gauntlet, Mark Briscoe delivered the Jay Driller to Roderick Strong. Seizing the opportunity, MJF threw Briscoe out of the ring and then pinned Strong to secure the victory.
The win is the culmination of a stated goal for MJF, who won a qualifying match on a prior episode of AEW Dynamite to earn his entry spot. In the lead-up to All In, he had been vocal about his strategy, noting he would cash in immediately on Jon Moxley but would be more calculated with Hangman Page. With the championship contract now in his possession, MJF can challenge for the title at a time of his choosing.
