NXT Homecoming delivered on its promise of nostalgia and surprise, with a wave of main roster stars and brand alumni returning to Full Sail to confront the current generation of talent. Former NXT Champions Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, and Bobby Roode all made appearances, joined by Damian Priest and Bianca Belair in a night that blended past and present.
Several cameos carried direct implications for the brand’s future. After Ethan Page retained the North American Championship, Damian Priest appeared backstage alongside Tavion Heights. Priest revealed he had already secured Heights a title opportunity against Page at the upcoming NXT No Mercy premium live event.
The theme of mentorship continued when Sami Zayn met Je’Von Evans backstage. Following Evans’ attack on Josh Briggs, Zayn encouraged him with a simple message: “The sky is the limit.”
Nostalgia also fueled the night’s biggest reactions. Finn Balor entered to his original NXT theme before cutting off Lexis King and planting him with a Coup De Grace. Bobby Roode, returning to the brand for the first time in years, advised Joe Hendry to set his sights on the NXT Championship. Montez Ford was spotted speaking with DarkState backstage, while Bianca Belair took in the show from the crowd.
The in-ring highlight came when Tyler Breeze wrestled his first WWE match in over four years, challenging Ethan Page for the North American Title. Breeze nearly scored the upset, connecting with the Beauty Shot for a dramatic near-fall that had the crowd on its feet. Page endured the challenge, however, and closed with a top-rope Twisted Grin to retain—just as Tavion Heights was announced as his next challenger.
