New Match Added To Tonight’s AEW Dynamite Lineup

A new contest has been added to the card for tonight’s AEW Dynamite, as Jon Moxley will go one-on-one with Daniel Garcia. The match was announced by AEW President Tony Khan early Wednesday morning.

Khan stated that Garcia is “stepping up” to fight Moxley after the latter injured Will Ospreay following the main event at Forbidden Door.

The attack on Ospreay occurred after the conclusion of the Lights Out Steel Cage match this past Sunday. Following the bout, Moxley and his Death Riders teammate Claudio Castagnoli launched a brutal assault on Ospreay, leaving him to be carried out on a stretcher. The segment served to write Ospreay off television as he is scheduled to undergo neck surgery for herniated discs.

Moxley enters the match coming off a loss at Forbidden Door, where his Death Riders team was defeated. Daniel Garcia’s last televised match was the Technical Spectacle four-way on the August 14 edition of AEW Collision.

With this new addition, three matches are now confirmed for tonight’s broadcast from Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

  • Falls Count Anywhere: Darby Allin vs. Claudio Castagnoli
  • Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron
  • Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia

While not officially added to the final card, a championship celebration for TBS Champion Mercedes Moné is also expected for tonight’s show. During the post-Forbidden Door media scrum, Moné demanded the celebration, a request Tony Khan publicly agreed to.
