Next major Cody Rhodes opponent in 2025 revealed: "It’s going to be big"
Drew McIntyre discusses potential rivalry with Cody Rhodes during livestream, reflecting on their shared history and hinting at future confrontation.
Drew McIntyre addressed his developing rivalry with Cody Rhodes during a TikTok livestream, suggesting an impending confrontation between the two competitors.
“I don’t want to give too much away. It’s going to be significant when the time comes… The world is going to be along for the ride. Feelings will be hurt, bodies will be,” McIntyre said.
The two wrestlers share a complex history, including a brief WWE Tag Team Championship reign in 2010 that lasted 35 days before losing to John Cena and David Otunga. Their most recent encounter saw McIntyre defeat Rhodes on the February 19, 2024, episode of RAW.
McIntyre reflected on their parallel career paths, noting how both departed WWE before returning. He referenced his time on the independent circuit, where he “redefined what independent wrestling meant,” while Rhodes went on to co-found AEW.
“Cody and I, it’s going to be big when it happens,” McIntyre added.
Both competitors are currently involved in separate storylines – McIntyre with The OG Bloodline and Rhodes alongside Kevin Owens.
