A planned appearance by Nikki Bella on the June 16 episode of WWE RAW was rescinded following an injury to Liv Morgan. Bella was present at the event and slated to be part of the broadcast to advance her storyline with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.
During the program, Liv Morgan sustained a serious injury in a match against Kairi Sane, which resulted in the contest being stopped. Reports indicate that Morgan will require surgery and could be sidelined for up to six months.
The on-screen conflict between the two performers began on the June 9 edition of WWE RAW, when Morgan confronted and attacked Bella upon her return. One week later, on the night she was injured, Morgan addressed her actions, stating that Bella “had to learn the hard way.”
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided details on the situation that unfolded backstage.
“Nikki Bella had been at Raw and was set to appear to further the story with Morgan. However, once Morgan was injured, WWE changed plans and pulled Bella from the show entirely,” Meltzer stated.
This development creates uncertainty for the direction of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and a potential match for Nikki Bella at the upcoming all-female Evolution event in July. Prior reports had suggested that Brie Bella was also in discussions for a return, leading to speculation about a tag team run for The Bella Twins.
