The possibility of a Lucha Brothers reunion in WWE has gained momentum following comments made by Penta during a recent WWE World Panel. The January RAW acquisition addressed the potential of teaming up with his brother Rey Fenix, who joined the SmackDown roster earlier this month.
During the panel discussion, Tommaso Ciampa directly approached Penta with an offer to facilitate a reunion, stating:
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Penta, before you leave… I know Rey Fénix has just come on over to SmackDown. If you and your brother ever want to do the thing—we get together—you have the opportunity, my friend.
Penta responded positively to the proposition, saying:
Anytime. Anytime… because it’s a pleasure to work with these guys, because these guys are one of the best in the world. Thank you, guys. Thank you for coming. Thank you so much!
This exchange comes after Penta had already expressed enthusiasm about Rey Fenix’s arrival to the blue brand. The brothers, who established themselves as one of wrestling’s premier tag teams before joining WWE separately, now appear to be on a collision course toward reuniting in the company’s tag division.
While currently competing on different brands, the exchange suggests WWE is laying groundwork for eventually bringing the brothers together. The timing of such a reunion remains uncertain, but Penta’s willingness to team with Rey Fenix indicates both performers are open to recapturing their tag team success on WWE programming.
