AEW wrestler Skye Blue has provided an update on her recovery status following a lengthy absence from television. Blue has been sidelined for over six months due to an injury suffered in July 2024.
During her appearance at a virtual signing for Highspots Live, Blue addressed her current medical status. The AEW star was direct when asked about her clearance to compete.
I am not cleared. My ankle is really f*cked up.
Blue suffered a broken ankle during her match against Hikaru Shida last July. The injury has kept her off AEW programming since that time.
Later in the same virtual signing session, Blue offered a glimpse of optimism regarding her eventual return to the ring. She expressed hope for a relatively prompt comeback.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Blue’s update coincides with another injury situation within AEW. Buddy Matthews recently confirmed he sustained a foot injury during his Continental Championship match against Kazuchika Okada at Grand Slam Australia.
Matthews appeared to suffer the injury while making his entrance for the title match. The former Trios Champion subsequently lost his challenge against Okada.
