The recently formed team of Andrade and Rey Fenix secured a major opportunity on the July 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, winning a chaotic fatal four-way match to become the new number-one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Their victory sets up a title clash against the current champions, The Wyatt Sicks, on next week’s broadcast.
The high-stakes bout featured three other top teams: the Motor City Machine Guns, #DIY, and Fraxiom. The action was relentless from the start, with all eight men brawling inside and outside the ring. At one point, Andrade and Fenix paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero, with Fenix hitting a frog splash on Axiom before Andrade delivered the Three Amigos, setting up a second frog splash from his partner.
The match’s conclusion was frantic. After numerous near-falls and broken-up pin attempts, the turning point came when Candice LeRae appeared at ringside to distract the referee. The interference ultimately backfired, as Johnny Gargano inadvertently struck his partner, Tommaso Ciampa. Andrade capitalized on the confusion, hitting Ciampa with The Message to secure the victory for his team.
This win marks a rapid ascent for the duo, who only began teaming in May 2025. Rey Fenix officially signed with WWE in March, joining his brother Penta, while Andrade had been competing as a singles star since his return at the 2024 Royal Rumble, recently concluding a feud with Carmelo Hayes. Initial rumors suggested a potential feud between the two, but plans shifted to create a new powerhouse team, a move that has now positioned them for championship gold.
