WWE fans might see John Cena and Cody Rhodes square off once more following their WrestleMania title match. Promotional material for the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event features both competitors, sparking speculation about a potential championship rematch.
The Money in the Bank poster, which includes both wrestlers, points to a possible June 7 showdown at the Intuit Dome in California. This comes after Cena defeated Rhodes at WrestleMania to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship, marking his 17th world title win.
Following the loss, Rhodes was spotted leaving the venue with his wife, visibly upset and refusing to address cameras. This behavior has fueled rumors about a temporary absence from WWE programming for the former champion.
Meanwhile, Randy Orton has positioned himself as Cena’s first challenger by attacking the new champion on Raw. Orton prominently appears on the promotional materials for Backlash, scheduled for May 10 in his hometown of St. Louis, suggesting he will face Cena at that event.
The WWE has not officially confirmed any plans for a Cena-Rhodes rematch at this time. The creative direction appears to be focused on the Orton-Cena program heading into Backlash, with the potential Rhodes return match potentially set for the following month.
