Location for John Cena’s WWE Retirement Match Revealed

According to a report from WrestleVotes, John Cena’s final match is scheduled for the Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. The event will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. WWE has not yet made an official announcement confirming these details.

The reported location shifts expectations from Boston. City officials there had expressed interest in hosting the match. However, reports indicate WWE requested the city cover new costs, and scheduling conflicts arose due to the December holidays.

Cena’s final Boston appearance is now set for the November 10 episode of Raw. The following week, he will appear for the last time in New York City at Madison Square Garden on November 17.

While an opponent for the retirement match is not known, speculation points toward Brock Lesnar. Lesnar attacked Cena at SummerSlam on August 3, setting up a potential conflict. The two are also scheduled to face each other at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

The farewell tour officially began in January 2025. Cena’s final run includes eight remaining dates, including tonight’s SmackDown in Chicago and an appearance at Survivor Series on November 29.

The December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event will stream live on Peacock as part of a quarterly special agreement between WWE and the platform.
