Randy Orton returned to WWE at Elimination Chamber held in Toronto, Canada on March 1, confronting Kevin Owens after the unsanctioned match between Owens and Sami Zayn.
The highly physical unsanctioned match ended with Owens defeating Zayn. After securing the victory, Owens continued his attack on Zayn and fought off security personnel who attempted to intervene.
Randy Orton’s entrance music suddenly played through the arena, bringing fans to their feet as he emerged to confront Owens. The return marked Orton’s first WWE appearance since November when Owens sidelined him with a piledriver.
Orton immediately targeted Owens, launching an attack that sent the former Universal Champion retreating. As Orton prepared to deliver his signature punt kick, security personnel intervened, allowing Owens to escape further damage.
Before leaving the ring, Orton delivered RKO finishers to several security team members while the Toronto crowd cheered enthusiastically. He then pointed toward the WrestleMania 41 sign hanging in the arena, signaling his intentions for the upcoming premium live event.
