Lloyd Anoa’i has indicated that Lance Anoa’i, cousin to both The Rock and Roman Reigns, has signed with WWE’s developmental brand NXT. The revelation came during a recent interview on the Keeks and Squeaks YouTube channel.
When asked about family members potentially joining WWE, Lloyd shared news about Lance’s status:
Jacob Fatu, my nephew, I was waiting for them to pick him up. I’m so blessed. My other nephew, Lance Anoa’i, he’s [in] NXT right now and one that I have right now that I’ll fit, I would actually put my own son in there, because I’m training him. He’s 17 years old, he’s 6’4 and he hasn’t stopped growing. So, you know, could be part of our third generation.
Lance Anoa’i, 32, began his wrestling career in 2010 and gained prominence in Major League Wrestling (MLW) starting in 2018. During his MLW tenure, he formed The Samoan Swat Team alongside Jacob Fatu.
Previous WWE appearances shape veteran’s return
Lance’s history with WWE includes three televised matches dating back to 2015. His initial appearance came on SmackDown, teaming with Rhett Titus against The Ascension. He later competed on NXT in 2017, partnering with Gariston Spears in a match against The Authors of Pain.
His final WWE appearance featured a singles match against Shane McMahon, which ended prematurely due to Drew McIntyre’s interference. Roman Reigns notably came to Lance’s defense following a post-match attack by McMahon and McIntyre.
