According to PWInsider, Andrade El Idolo was fired from WWE after multiple wellness policy violations over the past year. The report sheds light on his September exit from the company and his quick return to All Elite Wrestling.
Andrade made his AEW comeback on the October 1 episode of Dynamite, which doubled as the promotion’s sixth-anniversary show. He attacked Kenny Omega after a six-man tag match and officially joined The Don Callis Family, signaling a clear direction for his second stint in the company.
The circumstances of his WWE departure explain why he was free to jump immediately to AEW. WWE reportedly terminated the former United States Champion’s contract outright on September 13, skipping the usual 90-day non-compete clause. That move allowed him to sign with AEW full-time and debut without delay.
Just a day after his return, Andrade unveiled a “hit list” on October 2, already crossing off Omega’s name. The rest of the list was blurred, though speculation points to names like MJF and Will Ospreay. MJF is currently away from AEW, while Ospreay is sidelined with a neck injury.
Andrade’s comeback is notable: he’s the first wrestler to sign with AEW, leave for a full WWE run, and then return. His WWE stint began in 2024, after his original run with All Elite Wrestling.
