Recently Released WWE Star May Have Signed With AEW

Lacey Lane, known to WWE fans as Kayden Carter, has officially returned to the ring. The former champion made her first post-WWE appearance at the ROH TV tapings at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The match marks the start of a new chapter for Lane following the end of her WWE run earlier this year.

Lane’s tenure in WWE lasted from 2018 to 2025, a run highlighted by a successful tag team with Katana Chance. Together, they captured both the NXT Women’s and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Her final match for the company was on the April 11 episode of SmackDown in a title contender’s gauntlet match.

In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, Lane was candid about her future, stating a clear preference for joining the AEW women’s division while also being open to other opportunities. “Okay, so I know people will probably look down at me for saying this but I could give a s—t because whatever, I wanna work,” Lane stated.

She specifically praised the in-ring style of All Elite Wrestling. “I think AEW is my speed, because, you know, those girls can f—king go. I love the way that they work. They don’t bring the bulls—t. They bring the fists and you know me, I’m a girl that’s down to fight,” she explained. Lane also noted the potential for a strong support system in AEW, but kept her options open, adding, “Even TNA, I would go there because some of the girls there, I know that bust their ass and they’re trying to put the division on notice as well and I’m for it. I just wanna be a part of a legacy.”

By appearing in ROH, Lane has taken a tangible first step into the world of Tony Khan’s promotions. Her path forward will become clearer to the public when her debut match airs on an upcoming episode of ROH TV.
