Ric Flair Fires Back at John Cena’s Record-Breaking Threat
Ric Flair responds to John Cena’s heel promo about surpassing his 16 world title reigns, saying the odds of Cena winning are “astronomical.”

Ric Flair has fired back at John Cena’s recent heel promo where the WWE superstar vowed to break Flair’s legendary 16 world title record at WrestleMania 41 against Cody Rhodes.
Cena didn’t just promise victory on Raw – he threatened to “ruin wrestling” by winning the title and retiring with it, erasing traditions and legacies in the process.
Speaking with TMZ Sports’ Dean “Mojo” Muhtadi, Flair seemed unfazed by the threat.
I’m just glad I’m alive after the life I’ve led to be here to hear it. I got news for John. They’ve been trying to get rid of the ‘Woo’ for 50 years.
The wrestling icon didn’t stop there, taking a direct shot at Cena’s chances.
The ‘Woo’ isn’t going away, and neither is Ric Flair—and the odds of him winning a seventeenth world title are astronomical.
Despite the jab, Flair praised Cena’s character change, calling it “the coolest thing they could have done.” He also confirmed he’ll be at WrestleMania 41 when Cena attempts to make history.
The legend isn’t losing sleep over his record potentially falling. After all, some records are meant to be broken – but is Cena truly the man destined to surpass Flair’s historic achievement?
