Ricky Saints is the new NXT Champion, having defeated Oba Femi in the main event of NXT No Mercy on September 27, 2025. The title change took place at the FTL War Memorial in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Saints secured the pinfall victory in the center of the ring after hitting a series of back-to-back DDTs. The finishing sequence was capped by a tornado DDT delivered from the ropes.
Speaking backstage after his victory, Saints addressed the significance of the moment. “What a wild ride so far. And I’m not one to be a loss for words, but tonight’s different. It’s very, very special. Tonight is a culmination of things that I didn’t think was possible, but I made it so. And not just me. People supported me. People believed in me. Fans, everybody. And now the absolute era truly begins.”
The championship is Saints’ second title since debuting with WWE in February of this year. His first was the North American Title, which he held for 56 days. The move to WWE followed a tenure of nearly five years with AEW, where his final match occurred in March 2024.
Saints’ victory ended Oba Femi’s 263-day championship run, which stands as the seventh-longest reign in the title’s history. The loss was only the second time Femi has been pinned in his WWE career; the first was by Tony D’Angelo.
