Roman Reigns will not be appearing on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, despite having completed filming his role as Akuma in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. His WWE return is reportedly scheduled for a later date.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, current plans call for Reigns to make his comeback at Survivor Series on November 29 in San Diego, California.
The report outlines that Reigns is expected to compete in a WarGames match. The bout would see him team with The Usos and two additional partners against The Vision, a faction consisting of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, joined by two allies of their own.
Reigns’ television absence originates from the Clash in Paris event, where a storyline attack by The Vision was used to write him off programming. This allowed him to complete his filming commitments, which also included Cody Rhodes portraying Guile in the same movie.
His hiatus has been significant enough to impact his standing in industry rankings. On September 23, Reigns was excluded from the 2025 PWI 500 after failing to meet the publication’s minimum requirement of ten singles matches during the evaluation period.
