Roman Reigns was taken to a medical facility following his opening match at WWE Clash in Paris. After the contest, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker launched a post-match assault on Reigns, which resulted in him being carried out on a stretcher. Following the attack, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce banned both Reed and Breakker from the building for the remainder of the night.
The attack occurred moments after Reigns had successfully defeated Reed in the show’s opening contest. The victory concluded a personal feud that saw Reed adopt the persona of “The Tribal Thief” and repeatedly steal Reigns’ sneakers on WWE programming. After securing the win with a Spear in front of a supportive Paris crowd, Reigns retrieved his footwear and briefly applied a guillotine choke on Paul Heyman before the assault began.
The injury angle is expected to serve as a storyline reason for Reigns’ upcoming hiatus from WWE. He is scheduled to begin filming a role in a “Street Fighter” movie in September, which will require him to be away from the company for approximately one month. Filming is slated to run from September 2 through the week of September 26.
During his appearance in Paris, Reigns paid tribute to his family by wearing two Ula Falla necklaces, honoring his recently deceased father, Sika, and uncle, Afa Anoa’i, of The Wild Samoans. The match against Reed was also notable as it marked Reigns’ first one-on-one contest since January 2025.
As of now, WWE has not provided an official medical update on Roman Reigns’ condition beyond confirming his transport to the hospital. The ban issued by Adam Pearce to Reed and Breakker may also have implications for Seth Rollins’ upcoming World Heavyweight Championship defense, though how that will unfold has not yet been detailed.
