Roman Reigns Opens WWE Clash in Paris With Victory Over Bronson Reed

Roman Reigns started Clash in Paris with a victory over Bronson Reed in the event’s opening match. After securing the pinfall, Reigns got his stolen sneakers back and applied a guillotine choke to Paul Heyman.

The match, which took place at the Paris La Defense Arena, was noted for its main event atmosphere, with the crowd in Nanterre, France, strongly behind Reigns. The finish came after Reigns hit a Superman punch and a Samoan Drop from the second rope, which set Reed up for the final Spear.

This win brings an end to a personal feud that saw Reed adopt the moniker “The Tribal Thief” and repeatedly steal Reigns’ shoes after various attacks on WWE programming. The contest was Reigns’ first one-on-one match since January and his first non-title singles match at a premium live event in 786 days.

Following tonight’s event, Reigns is expected to take a temporary leave from WWE to begin filming a role in a “Street Fighter” movie during September. However, his night in Paris is not over, as he is still scheduled to accompany his cousin, Jey Uso, to the ring for the Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Championship main event later this evening.
