The main event of the July 14 episode of WWE RAW determined the next challenger for GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, but the aftermath saw the return of a major star.
A five-man gauntlet match culminated with CM Punk defeating Bron Breakker, who had previously eliminated Penta, LA Knight, and Jey Uso. Punk’s victory with the GTS secured his title match against GUNTHER.
Following the bell, Breakker and his associate Bronson Reed launched an attack on Punk. Jey Uso, who had been neutralized by Reed’s interference during his own match with Breakker, returned to aid Punk but was also overwhelmed by the duo.
This prompted the return of Roman Reigns, who had not been seen since the night after WrestleMania. Making his way to the ring, Reigns dispatched both Breakker and Reed, clearing the ring of the immediate threat.
Reigns then helped his cousin, Jey Uso, back to his feet. A moment of tense acknowledgment passed between Reigns and CM Punk, establishing a temporary alliance against their common enemies. The broadcast concluded with Reigns, Punk, and Uso standing united in the ring as Breakker, Reed, and Paul Heyman retreated up the ramp.
Seth Rollins, the leader of the group with Breakker and Reed, was absent from the show following an injury sustained at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
