Roman Reigns may be off WWE television for now, but fans have been given a new look at the Tribal Chief through his latest venture in Hollywood. Actor Vidyut Jammwal, who plays Dhalsim in the upcoming Street Fighter film, shared photos from the set that feature Reigns in character as Akuma.
Reigns is not the only wrestler attached to the project. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has already filmed his role as Guile, while NJPW’s Hirooki Goto appears as E. Honda. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
WWE wrote Reigns off programming late last month to accommodate his filming schedule. After a win at the Clash in Paris Premium Live Event, he was ambushed by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The post-match attack included multiple spears and Reed driving him through the announce table with a Tsunami, leaving Reigns stretchered out of the arena.
The storyline injury provides cover for his time away from television. Although no firm return date has been announced, Reigns is currently advertised for Survivor Series: WarGames in San Diego on Saturday, November 29.
His schedule also confirms he will not be present at this weekend’s Wrestlepalooza or at Crown Jewel in Australia on October 11.
