The wrestling world now has a clearer timeline regarding Roman Reigns’ future in WWE rings. The veteran performer has disclosed his plans to step away from in-ring competition within the next few years, providing fans with a definitive window before his transition to other entertainment ventures.
In a new Vanity Fair interview, Reigns confirmed his current WWE contract will expire after WrestleMania 42 in 2026. When discussing his wrestling future beyond that point, Reigns was straightforward:
After that contract is done, we probably have another year or two max. Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.
The revelation comes as Reigns continues to work a reduced schedule with WWE. His anticipated career pivot to Hollywood has been discussed previously, with WWE President Nick Khan publicly supporting the transition in 2023.
Regarding his approach to selecting film roles, Reigns expressed clear intentions for his post-wrestling career path.
I want to almost model this like Tarantino, where we’re not just doing anything. I want to really plan: I want this role, I want that.
Before his eventual departure, Reigns is set to headline the first night of WrestleMania 41, where he will square off against CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a high-profile triple threat match. The Premium Live Event will serve as another milestone in what appears to be the final chapter of his in-ring run.
