Seth Rollins kicked off the April 18 edition of SmackDown with a focused message aimed at his WrestleMania 41 opponents. Seated cross-legged in the ring, Rollins addressed both CM Punk and Roman Reigns before their scheduled triple threat match set for Saturday night.
During his ring time, Rollins questioned Punk’s motivation for returning to WWE.
“Did he come back because you screamed his name for ten years? Or because someone wrote him a big check” Rollins asked the crowd, before labeling Punk a “liar, fraud and coward” who only returned when the financial offer became attractive enough.
Shifting focus to Roman Reigns, Rollins criticized his limited schedule and special treatment.
Roman doesn’t pretend to care about you guys. He only cares about himself. Roman is in the Roman Reigns business.
Rollins also referenced The Shield’s formation twelve years ago, noting that Paul Heyman created the group to protect Punk. He contrasted his dedication with Roman’s push, stating, “I was in the ring every night, giving it my all, while the spotlight was on Roman.” Rollins reminded viewers he competed at WrestleMania 40 despite knee injuries and family issues.
In his closing remarks, Rollins emphasized the significance of Saturday’s contest:
Tomorrow ends in the most important triple threat in history. I’m going to leave everything in the ring to make sure this company stays on the right path. This is not a prediction, this is a spoiler.
