Seth Rollins has shared insights into his earlier predictions about CM Punk’s potential WWE comeback. During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Rollins revealed he first considered the possibility during Punk’s WWE Backstage stint in 2019.

Rollins explained his perspective on the likelihood of Punk’s return:

When he joined the broadcast team on Fox, when they were doing that Backstage show I thought to myself okay, maybe there’s an opportunity here. Then when he joined AEW I kind of thought maybe he’ll have a twilight run here. But there were then a lot of times where I just thought, you know, because I know he makes it out like he didn’t really like the other guy that was in charge, but the truth is he didn’t really get along with the current guy that’s in charge either

Addressing the Survivor Series 2023 return, Rollins expressed frustration over the timing, believing it overshadowed Randy Orton’s comeback moment.

Schedule Changes May Extend Career

The former World Champion also discussed how WWE’s reduced live event schedule could prolong his in-ring career. At 38, Rollins sees potential for an extended run due to decreased physical demands:

Yeah, I am 38, will be 39 in May. I think I’ve got more than a couple of years left in me. The dynamic of the industry has shifted so much. I’m not wrestling 200 times a year anymore. I’m not on the road 300 days a year anymore

With WWE’s next live event scheduled for March, the lighter schedule allows Rollins to balance his career with family responsibilities while maintaining his performance level.
