Seth Rollins Seen Backstage at WWE Evolution

The future of the current Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, is uncertain following a significant knee injury sustained during his match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta. The incident occurred when Rollins landed awkwardly while attempting a moonsault, forcing a quick conclusion to the match and prompting WWE to alter the final 40 minutes of the broadcast.

The following night, Rollins was seen backstage at the State Farm Arena for the WWE Evolution 2 event, moving around on crutches and wearing a knee brace. According to a report from Fightful Select, one source who saw the injury confirmed it “looked bad.” While present to support his wife, Becky Lynch, Rollins was visibly frustrated after the injury occurred on Saturday, raising immediate concerns about its severity.

This development significantly impacts WWE’s creative plans. Rollins, who won the Money in the Bank briefcase for the second time in June, was positioned for major storylines, with his injury now casting doubt on those programs. This is not his first encounter with knee problems, as he underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in early 2024 and has a documented history of knee injuries.

While most backstage sources believe the injury is legitimate, there remains a small amount of skepticism, with at least one person suggesting it could be part of a storyline. WWE has not yet released an official statement on the extent of the injury or a timeline for his recovery.

Fortunately for Rollins, the Money in the Bank contract provides a long-term storyline opportunity, as he has until June 2026 to cash it in. This extended window allows for a potential return and championship pursuit even if a lengthy absence for surgery and rehabilitation is required.
