The destructive faction led by Seth Rollins now appears to have an official identity. In the aftermath of their failed attempt to seize the WWE Championship at Night of Champions, stablemate Bronson Reed took to social media, seemingly confirming the group’s new name: Doomsday.
The group, which also features Bron Breakker, made its presence felt during the main event between John Cena and CM Punk. Their interference, however, did not lead to the intended outcome, as Rollins was ultimately thwarted in his attempt to cash in the Money in the Bank contract. Despite this setback, the faction’s resolve appears unshaken.
On his Instagram account, Reed posted a photograph of himself alongside Rollins and Breakker. The accompanying three-word caption, “When doomsday comes,” has been widely interpreted as the formal christening of the trio.
This would not be the first time the “Doomsday” moniker has been used within the wrestling industry. Decades ago, the name was used by Kane during his tenures in promotions such as the USWA and WWC before he established his legendary persona in WWE. The choice of name solidifies the faction’s identity as a dominant and menacing force on the WWE RAW brand.
