Seth Rollins has landed a new role outside the squared circle, joining the NFL Network’s flagship morning show, Good Morning Football. According to a report from Deadline, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion will serve as a guest host for the 2025 season.
Rollins will contribute to major stories and special segments alongside the regular GMFB crew, which includes Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, Manti Te’o, and Sherree Burruss. This new gig formalizes a familiar position for Rollins, who has made several well-received appearances on the show during the 2024 season.
The timing of this announcement is notable, as it comes just days before a critical title defense. This Sunday, August 31, Rollins is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris against three challengers: CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight.
The championship match is a Fatal 4-Way, a stipulation that puts Rollins at a major disadvantage, as he can lose the title without being pinned or submitted. The high-stakes bout is the culmination of weeks of escalating tension that began at SummerSlam.
Rollins captured the title from CM Punk by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract moments after Punk had won it from Gunther, an act dubbed “The Ruse of the Century” due to Rollins appearing to be injured. This ignited a direct rivalry with Punk, while Rollins and his faction, “The Vision,” also antagonized both Jey Uso and LA Knight, leading to their inclusion in the match.
Despite the odds being against the champion in Paris, veteran wrestling writer Vince Russo has stated he believes Rollins will retain. Russo argues that a quick title loss would undercut the narrative momentum generated by Rollins’ controversial victory and the subsequent heat on his character.
The animosity reached a boiling point on the final Monday Night Raw before the event. The broadcast saw a massive brawl erupt between challengers Jey Uso, CM Punk, and LA Knight. Later, Rollins interfered in a match between LA Knight and his stablemate Bron Breakker, helping Breakker secure the victory and further fueling the challengers’ desire for retribution.
Rollins’ new hosting duties on Good Morning Football are part of a growing media portfolio for the champion. A passionate Chicago Bears fan, he previously announced one of the team’s picks at the 2025 NFL Draft and has also guest-hosted for Rich Eisen. His addition to the GMFB lineup comes amid a period of change for the show, which recently saw the departures of Akbar Gbajabiamila and longtime co-host Peter Schrager.
