Shawn Michaels Drops Major WWE Stand & Deliver Announcements
Shawn Michaels reveals why WWE Stand & Deliver features mostly multi-participant matches, emphasizing roster exposure opportunity.

WWE executive Shawn Michaels has addressed fan questions regarding the abundance of multi-wrestler matches scheduled for the upcoming NXT Stand & Deliver event. The premium live event takes place hours before WrestleMania 41’s opening night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Currently, Ricky Starks’ NXT North American Championship defense stands as the only singles match on the card. During an appearance on the Bobby Bones Show, Michaels, WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creation, explained the reasoning behind this booking approach.
We have a lot of multi-person fights at Stand & Deliver. Look, a lot of people don’t like that, but these young men and women work year-round.
The WWE Hall of Famer emphasized that many NXT performers lack regular opportunities to work premium live events or travel shows.
Not everyone has the opportunity to participate in PLEs, the road shows, the traveling broadcasts that we have been doing more and more lately. We want to give as many people as possible the chance to perform on the biggest weekend of the year.
Michaels noted these showcase opportunities align with talent motivations.
That’s why people get into this business, to have this experience, to live these moments. And we hope to have many highlights at Stand & Deliver.
The executive also confirmed the developmental brand closely monitors individual performances during these events.
It’s something we definitely keep an eye on, and whenever there’s a performance or someone that goes above and beyond, whether it’s in one fight or throughout the year, we try to reward them as much as possible.
