WWE’s newest show, Evolve, has its leadership officially in place. Shawn Michaels has appointed Ava as the onscreen authority figure following the program’s debut episode.
The announcement came after the main event concluded, where Jack Cartwheel, Cappuccino Jones, and Sean Legacy defeated Ricky Smokes, Brad Baylor, and Jackson Drake.
WWE aired a backstage segment featuring Michaels and Ava discussing the future direction of the developmental brand. This conversation established the leadership structure for the new show.
During their interaction, Michaels told Ava that she was “the mayor” and expressed his trust in her judgment to direct the show. He empowered her to make decisions about the program’s direction.
Ava thanked Michaels for the opportunity and revealed she already had plans for next week’s main event. Michaels concluded the segment by telling her “You’re the boss.”
This appointment expands Ava’s existing role within WWE. She began serving as NXT General Manager in January 2024 after transitioning from a brief in-ring career with the company.
Ava’s responsibilities now include making matches and serving as an authority figure across multiple WWE brands. She has appeared on both Raw and SmackDown alongside General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis.
WWE Evolve serves as the company’s newest developmental program focused on showcasing future wrestling talent. The weekly show features performers signed to WWE’s ID program that launched earlier this year.
The program airs Wednesday nights on Tubi for United States viewers. International fans can watch the show on YouTube, providing global access to WWE’s developmental system.
