Shawn Spears Wins NXT North American Championship

Shawn Spears captured the NXT North American Championship from Tony D’Angelo during the March 4 episode of WWE NXT.

The title match received main event status with Lilian Garcia providing formal ring introductions to enhance the contest’s prestige.

Tony D’Angelo entered the match as champion after winning the title on October 8, 2023, during the NXT event in Saint Louis at The Factory.

Both competitors exchanged offensive maneuvers throughout the opening phase before continuing their battle through a commercial break.

The match featured several near falls as both men came close to victory. Fans in the NXT Arena strongly supported Tony D’Angelo throughout the contest.

The momentum shifted when members of The Family brawled with Spears’ associates at ringside. During this chaos, The Underboss accidentally collided with Tony D’Angelo, sending the champion tumbling out of the ring.

Shawn Spears quickly capitalized on the situation, bringing D’Angelo back into the ring and executing a C4 maneuver. Tony D’Angelo showed remarkable resilience by kicking out at two.

Spears attempted another C4, but D’Angelo managed to counter the move. However, during a subsequent exchange, Tony’s back gave out, allowing Spears to secure the pinfall victory.

NXT concluded with the crowd visibly shocked as Shawn Spears celebrated his championship win while Tony D’Angelo remained down in the ring.
