Shinsuke Nakamura, who has been completely absent from WWE programming since June, is scheduled to make a public appearance for the company on August 31st. The star will be part of a signing event at Cosm Los Angeles, which is being held in conjunction with the Clash in Paris premium live event taking place the same day.
Nakamura’s last televised match was a first-round loss in the King of the Ring tournament on SmackDown. That was only his ninth televised match in 2025 and followed a prior seven-month hiatus from WWE TV in 2024. Since his tournament elimination, there has been no on-screen involvement or mention of his name.
While not an in-ring return, the signing is seen as a strategic move to maintain Nakamura’s visibility with the fan base. It allows WWE to leverage his star power during a major event weekend and gauge fan interest without needing immediate creative plans for his character.
The Clash in Paris event itself will proceed with a stacked card. The show will feature several high-profile matches:
- John Cena vs. Logan Paul
- Seth Rollins (c) vs. LA Knight vs. CM Punk vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship
- Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed
- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Nikki Bella for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
- The Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. Street Profits for the WWE Tag Team Championship
- Rusev vs. Sheamus
