Sol Ruca retained the WWE Speed Championship at NXT No Mercy, defeating surprise opponent Jaida Parker at the FTL War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Parker stepped in as a last-minute replacement for Lainey Reid, who was pulled from the card after being ruled out of competition.
Before the contest, Shawn Michaels announced that Reid was not medically cleared to compete following an injury suffered during training. Reid had secured her title shot with prior wins over Faby Apache and Candice LeRae, but the opportunity shifted when she was removed from the lineup.
The title bout carried a special five-minute limit, extending the usual three-minute rule for the division. Mike Rome handled the formal introductions, and the presentation featured alternating green and red lighting throughout the bout.
The final stretch erupted into chaos at ringside. With 30 seconds remaining, Parker connected with a hip attack on Ruca before shifting her focus to Zaria, striking her at ringside. Lash Legend then entered the fray. Zaria attempted a spear on Parker, but Parker dodged, sending Zaria crashing into Legend instead.
Amid the confusion, Parker rolled back into the ring. Ruca seized the opening, delivering the Soul Snatcher for the decisive pin. The champion scored the three count with only 11 seconds left, extending her reign to 170 days with another successful defense.
