The opening segment for tonight’s NXT Homecoming has been confirmed. According to Cory Hays of BodySlam, WWE executives and D-Generation X members Triple H and Shawn Michaels will kick off the broadcast from Full Sail University, setting the stage for what is being positioned as a milestone night for the brand.
The involvement of the two figures most associated with NXT’s black-and-gold era reinforces the evening’s theme of honoring the past while spotlighting the present. Among the notable returns is Bobby Roode, making his first televised appearance in three years. Roode, who has been sidelined since spring 2022 following multiple neck surgeries, has shifted into a full-time producer role but will step back in front of the cameras for this special.
That mix of eras extends to the main event, where the reunion of #DIY—Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano—pits the duo against Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes. Elsewhere on the card, Tyler Breeze challenges Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship, while WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defend against Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame.
A late change was made to the scheduled six-woman tag bout. Tiffany Stratton has been removed from the lineup due to an undisclosed injury, with Lyra Valkyria stepping in to join Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer against Fatal Influence.
Additional appearances from Finn Balor, United States Champion Sami Zayn, Bianca Belair, and William Regal round out a packed show, presenting NXT Homecoming as both a tribute to the brand’s legacy and a showcase of its future.
