Fresh off her monumental WWE Women’s World Championship victory at Wrestlepalooza, Stephanie Vaquer appeared on the September 22 edition of Monday Night Raw. The new champion addressed the WWE Universe for the first time, delivering her mission statement and thanking the fans who supported her journey.
Her coronation came at Wrestlepalooza in Indianapolis, where she defeated IYO SKY to capture the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship. The win capped a meteoric rise for Vaquer, who earned her title shot by winning a battle royal at WWE Evolution less than a year after her NXT debut. She also made history as the first South American-born women’s world champion in WWE.
During her in-ring promo, Vaquer grew emotional as she credited the audience for fueling her success. “This championship represents the motivation and support you have all given me. And every single [one] of you celebrated with me at Wrestlepalooza and every single [one] of you cried with me. I need to say thank you.”
She then shifted her tone, issuing a bold declaration to the entire women’s division. “My fire will be making history and nobody, I say nobody can stop me. La Primera! WWE Women’s World Champion.”
Following her statement, Vaquer’s first major challenge as champion was set for Crown Jewel on October 11 in Perth, Australia. General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed she will compete in a champion vs. champion match at the premium live event. Her opponent will be determined this Friday on SmackDown in a Triple Threat Match featuring reigning WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, and Nia Jax.
