Syko Stu is taking legal action against Raja Jackson following the physical assault that occurred at a Knokx Pro event on August 23. Doug “The Epic” Malo, a wrestler who intervened during the attack, revealed on the Scaling Up podcast that lawyers are now involved on both sides. Malo stated he knew “from a decent source” that Stu was preparing to sue Jackson for the incident that left him hospitalized with serious injuries.
The situation escalated from a backstage argument hours before the show, during which Stu hit Jackson with a beer can. While Stu believed they were engaging in a “work” and later apologized, Jackson, who is not a trained wrestler, attacked him in the ring later that night. The incident, which was live-streamed, saw Jackson slam Stu to the mat with a double leg, rendering him unconscious before delivering a series of punches to his face.
Malo commented on the legal proceedings, stating, “I know from a decent source that there are lawyers involved. I know from a decent source that there are lawyers involved with Raja. We know that there are lawyers involved, so let the process play out and then we’ll know it by ear. But I can say there’s a high probability of that. That’s what’s going to happen to Raja.”
The lawsuit adds a civil dimension to Jackson’s growing legal troubles. The Los Angeles Police Department is actively investigating the assault, and it is expected that state authorities in California will soon take over the case. Former UFC fighter Josh Thomson noted on September 2 that authorities are compiling extensive video evidence to build a strong case before making an arrest.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Raja’s father, has publicly claimed his son was misled. He stated that Raja, who had suffered a concussion days prior, was told he could get his “payback” in the ring as part of the show after being struck by the beer can. Rampage Jackson asserts his son believed the apology was part of the script and that he was given the go-ahead to “mess him up.”
The attack left Stu with significant injuries, including trauma to both jaws, a fractured maxilla bone, and the loss of several teeth. He was released from the hospital on August 31 and is recovering at home.
